Stays are helpful devices that control how doors, lids and other hinged parts move. They enable components to open and close smoothly and safely. You can find stays in furniture, cabinets, cars and many types of equipment. There are several kinds of stays available for different uses. Gas stays use nitrogen gas to help lift heavy doors and lids, making them easier to open. A door stay will keep doors open at specified positions so they don't swing or slam shut. Rotary dampers provide smooth, controlled closing motion and telescopic stays can extend to different lengths as needed. Special systems such as BLOC-O-LIFT, LIFT-O-MAT, STAB-O-SHOC, and STAB-O-MAT are designed for specific movement needs.

Stabilus is one of the brands we stock that make movement solutions. They manufacture several types of products, including non-lockable gas springs that help components to open, hold, and close safely, lockable gas springs that can be adjusted and locked in place, hydraulic dampers that control bouncing and vibration and POWERISE electric drives that provide powered movement in cars and industrial equipment. Another brand, Pinet , makes many kinds of lid stays, including heavy-duty spring-loaded stays, black zinc plated without brackets, and a door stay with safety stops and folding brackets. They use materials including stainless steel and various other types of steel.

Stays offer important benefits. They improve safety by preventing sudden closing, and they add convenience by helping to lift heavy parts. They increase durability by reducing wear on hinges, and they're versatile, with options for almost any situation where controlled movement is needed. When choosing a door stay, consider how much weight they need to support, what material they're made from, how they mount and what kind of movement you need.
