Latch Systems - Compression
Compression latch systems are a type of mechanical fastening device that can securely latch or join two or more components together. It uses a cam or lever mechanism that applies compression force to make a secure connection, and this force creates friction between the two surfaces which locks them together.
The main advantage of using a compression latch system is that they can provide a tight and secure connection which can also be easily unlocked or locked when needed. They are also resistant to vibration, and when installed, they require minimal maintenance. Compression latch systems can also be used in various different environmental conditions, such as high temperatures or places that are exposed to chemicals. Deciding which compression latch to use depends on the size and weight of the components you need to join, how strong the clamping force needs to be and how easy it needs to be to operate.
Compression latch systems are often used in consumer products such as toolboxes, storage boxes, containers and luggage as the latch is easy to operate and also very secure. They are also used in various industrial settings, including machine guards, electrical cabinets, housings and panels as they can provide quick and easy access as well as maintaining a tight and secure seal. Furthermore, they are used in aircraft and vehicles to easily secure panels, hatches and compartments.

Our latches are made of a variety of materials, including die cast zinc, zinc alloy and stainless steel and they come in either matt black or stainless steel finishes, to suit a range of applications
